Watch: Adrian Delia Breaks Down What Makes Robert Abela Part Of ‘Establishment’
PN MP Adrian Delia and PL MEP candidate Daniel Attard couldn’t reach an agreement on what the “establishment” actually is.
During a debate on NET last night, Attard went for the jugular and tried to portray Delia as a victim of the “establishment” when he lost the PN leadership four years ago.
However, Delia wasn’t having any of it, and argued that Prime Minister Robert Abela’s recent behaviour proves that he himself is actually the face of the establishment.

“The word ‘establishment’ means a position of power that is abused,” Delia said. “If I don’t have power, I cannot be the establishment. If Robert Abela has power as Prime Minister and is abusing it by interfering in the State Advocate’s and Police Commissioner’s work, commanding the Attorney General, and attacking the media and students, then that is the establishment.”
He also warned that the issuing of pre-electoral government cheques to thousands of households weeks before the election was another prime example of the “establishment”.
“They are using their power of incumbency and letting corruption erode the country because they have an interest in colluding with foreign companies at the cost of the people of Malta. That is the establishment,” he said.
