Adrian Delia said the government should have collapsed in the wake of the Court of Appeal’s damning ruling in his Vitals-Steward case.

In a heated debate on Popolin with Justice Minister Jonathan Attard, Delia made his point crystal clear.

“What responsibility should be shouldered by thieves, fraudsters and those who take others’ money?” he questioned.

“If something like this had to happen in a foreign country, the government would collapse immediately as a bare minimum.”

“We have an Appeals Court sentence which is saying, for the first time in Malta’s history, that the government defrauded its own people. Should no one should resign over this?”

During the debate, Delia kept challenging Attard to comment on the court’s ruling that there was collusion between Vitals-Steward and top government officials. However, the minister repeatedly avoided giving a straight answer.
