Watch: Adrian Delia Will No Longer Speak About ‘PN Establishment’ As Part Of ‘Evolution’

Adrian Delia was very vocal against the “PN establishment” when he first ran for the post of leader eight years ago, but he is now singing a very different tune.
In a new interview with Lovin Malta, Delia flat out refused to even use that word to describe elements within the party he plans to lead once more.
“My evolution is showing that I won’t use certain terminology because it won’t get me anywhere,” he said when asked whether he thinks he has proven himself to the ‘PN establishment’.
“I have now learned that for the PN to have the opportunity to be in government, it must open its doors and attract more people but that we can’t do so by kicking out people.”

“There is space for everyone. If from outside, I thought that if Person A is to be given space, then Person B must leave, I now realise that we should all work together.”
Delia also dismissed suggestions that he could face another ‘blue hero’ internal uprising that had forced him out of office five years ago.
“Eight years ago, I approached the PN from outside and there was a certain element of skepticism, and some people sowed doubt and allegations,” he said.
“That already happened. The allegations have all been disproven, and I have worked from within the party for the past eight years.”
“If I met you for the first time having already heard negative things about you, I might doubt you, but after speaking and working together for years, it is human nature that it changes.”
“Even the way I acted after not remaining leader changed many people’s minds and they realised that I was there for the party and not myself.”
“Some might have expected me to act destructively but instead I was constructive, and MPs who didn’t support me back then approached me to say that things changed.”
