Watch: After 17 Years Together, Maltese Couple Spontaneously Marry In Las Vegas’ Rock N’ Roll Elvis Chapel
Sasha Roberts was on holiday in Nevada with her longtime partner Silvan Mifsud when she realised something: “I need to find a wedding dress ASAP”.
Though they’ve been together for 17 years, the Maltese couple had to cancel not one, but two weddings during the COVID-19 pandemic.
So that’s when Silvan decided to speed things up a little – and got on his knees and proposed to Sasha in the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, with plans to marry in the iconic Elvis Chapel just days later.
So Sasha had to find a wedding dress, and fast – though with her background in fashion and hairdressing, there was little doubt she’d be able to pull it off.
Speaking to Lovin Malta, Silvan said it was all a spontaneous decision – he even bought the wedding ring while in Vegas.
“On Sunday I decided to surprise Sasha with a proposal, and I made all the arrangements in one day,” Silvan said. “On Tuesday, I proposed to her, and the date was set for Thursday at 2.45pm.”
“The stage was set, so we were ready to rock n roll.”
The wedding ceremony was fun, energetic and saw the Maltese newlyweds busting some moves while Elvis performed some classics just for them.
In footage from their wedding dance, Sasha can be seen laughing and enjoying life as Silvan twirls and dances around her.
With the longtime couple finally wed together, they are over the moon and ready for their next big chapter – and Silvan only had one thing left to say.
“Thank God, thank you to our family and friends – and viva Las Vegas.”
