An agitated horse reportedly escaped from its owner causing drivers to brake suddenly all over Naxxar as it quickly ran from street to street.

Traffic and congestion formed shortly after as police and officials from the Animal Welfare department attempted to reign in the horse, who was said to be acting nervous. Unfortunately, the horse was injured in its escape.

“The horse crashed into something near San Pawl tat-Targa chapel. Its chest was covered in blood, its owner was walking him to calm down,” said one person who was on the scene.

The incident happened at around 4:15 pm yesterday afternoon. Police confirmed that the horse was eventually reigned in without causing any proprietary damage and was returned to his owner with light injuries.
