Watch: Alex Borg On Abela’s PN Leadership Taunt: ‘My Work In Gozo Is Bothering Him’
Nationalist MP Alex Borg has played down suggestions by the Prime Minister that he intends to dethrone Bernard Grech as PN leader.
Lovin Malta approached Borg in Valletta yesterday to ask whether there is any truth to Robert Abela’s taunt, which he made during a heated Parliament session.
While he didn’t explicitly deny it, Borg warned that Robert Abela’s focus is all wrong.
“I think Robert Abela should focus on getting the €400 million euro that he took over our health system back and he should try and see how to push our health system.”

“I just addressed a press conference with Adrian Delia, Bernard Grech and Chris Said outside the Gozo General Hospital and it’s a disgrace. Services are regressing and there was no investment in this hospital. That’s what Robert Abela should focus on.”
Borg said he suspects Abela kept mentioning him during his Parliament speech because the Prime Minister is bothered by his successful work in Gozo.
“He knows Gozo is slowly, slowly returning to the PN. I think he should focus on getting his own party back on track rather than trying to attack us when we are working hard and trying to get results for our country.”
Do you think Alex Borg should become PN leader one day?
