Watch: ‘Bernard Grech Ignored My Invitation To Attend Minimum Wage Ceremony’

Parliamentary secretary Andy Ellul has said he was “disappointed” that Bernard Grech ignored his personal invitation to attend a ceremony announcing an increase in the national minimum wage.
“I don’t want to be partisan because we didn’t introduce this measure for Laboruites or Nationalists, but for the nation,” Ellul said on ONE TV’s Paperscan this morning.
“However I must say I am disappointed that I personally invited Bernard Grech to attend this ceremony as a symbol of national unity, but he didn’t turn up.”

He pointed out that former PN leader Simon Busuttil had attended a similar ceremony back in 2017.
As per the agreement signed between the government and social partners, Malta’s minimum wage will increase by €20.81 a week to reach €200.73 a week at the start of 2024, and rise steadily up to €210.73 by 2027.
Do you think Bernard Grech should have attended the ceremony?
