Watch: Birkirkara Residents Disrupted By Noisy Roadworks In Early Hours Of The Morning

Birkirkara residents were disrupted by roadworks that took place in a residential street in the early hours of the morning.

Footage sent to Lovin Malta shows loud roadworks at Triq Francesco Buhagiar, and the resident who took the video said he filmed it at around 2:30am.

Road trenching works are currently taking place across Malta as part of a project to add several kilometres of underground cables to the nation’s electricity network.

The hope is that Malta can avoid a repeat of the prolonged blackouts that plagued the island last summer, but serious concerns have been raised over the inconvenience these roadworks have caused commuters.

Has your daily life been impacted by these ongoing roadworks?
