A bus has reportedly caught fire in St. Paul’s Bay earlier this afternoon.
Large plumes of black smoke were seen billowing off the vehicle as a fire engine attempted to put out the flames.
Images sent from the scene show the inferno has now been controlled as steam continues to rise from the wreckage of the bus.
Nobody was injured in the incident, but the bus driver was taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
Asked about the incident, Malta Public Transport has said its people are on site to ensure the safety of passengers and those on the road remains the number one priority, and an investigation will be carried out.
