Watch: Cab Drives Into Malta Airport Security Official After Being Refused Access To Restricted Area
A cab driver was filmed driving into a Malta International Airport security official who denied him access into a restricted area.
Footage taken on Wednesday morning and sent to Lovin Malta shows the cab driver trying to drive into an area near Arrivals that transport operators can only access with a valid passenger reservation.
The security official tried to stop him but the cab driver drove into him, forcing him out of the way. The official then started filming him but the cab driver kept driving on towards the entry point, shoving the worker into the barrier.

“Malta International Airport would like to express its indignation at yesterday’s incident involving a transport operator and an airport employee,” a spokesperson for the airport told Lovin Malta.
“Through threatening and reckless behaviour, the driver in question unduly put the safety of an employee – who was carrying out his duties – in harm’s way, to gain access to a restricted area which can be solely used by transport operators having a valid reservation.”
“Malta International Airport condemns this behaviour – and similar incidents – which undermines the company’s efforts to provide a safe work environment for all the team, whilst giving a good first impression to incoming tourists, which reflects well on all tourism stakeholders.”
The incident has been reported to the police and a police spokesperson confirmed with Lovin Malta that investigations are ongoing.
