Watch: ‘Can You Hold My Hand?’ – Roadworks Leave Naxxar Woman Struggling To Get Into Her Front Door

Road trenching works to upgrade the electricity network have dragged on for months at a great inconvenience to residents.

A video sent to Lovin Malta by Charlotte Stivala shows her mother struggling to climb over a trench to access her Naxxar front door, with her daughter having to step in to lend her a hand.

“They have been digging up the road outside my mother’s house for months now, she has an obstacle course to get into her front door and no access to her garage,” Charlotte said.

“The least they could do is lay out sheet metal at the entrance so that she can get in and out of her house.”

“A friend of mine lives down the road and has a disabled sister, not sure how they are expected to get through all this with a wheelchair. But most of my friends said “it’s Malta” like it’s an excuse. Horrible.”

Are the road trenching works taking too long to conclude?
