An operation is currently underway this morning to retrieve a cab which ended up in the sea of one of Buġibba’s rocky beaches.

A photo sent to Lovin Malta earlier today showed the cab – with no one inside and at least one window down – perched on a shallow part of the beach just under Buġibba’s Water Park, dangerously close to ending up in the deeper part of the sea.

Moments ago, however, a new set of photos sent to this newsroom showed an operation involving a crane which saw the cab being retrieved from the sea, as onlookers and beachgoers alike were treated to the surreal sight of the cab being pulled out from the sea.

It is not yet known what led to this incident, but there is a parking area nearby, just up the road from the rocky beach where the cab ended up being spotted this morning.
