Watch: Cyclist’s Hands-On Way To Ride Up Coast Road Turns Drivers’ Heads
A cyclist with a unique method of getting up a steep Coast Road hill had some drivers turning their heads with his… hands-on approach.
“I started wondering if I had cataracts,” one driver who saw the cyclist told Lovin Malta. “Other drivers were slowing down as I believe they couldn’t believe it either.”
In the footage, a man on a bicycle is holding onto the rear corner of a large truck driving up Coast Road, direction Pembroke.
Though it is unclear whether this was some form of training session or really just a random cyclist who wanted a free ride, drivers have raised concerns about the recklessness of such a method.

“Worse than that, I’m not even sure if the truck driver was aware of him.”
“Whilst I’m not aware of any consent by the truck driver, it surely posed a risk to those in the vicinity of such an event, and it could have potentially resulted in injury or even death.”
Have you ever seen a cyclist do something like this in Malta?
