Watch: ‘Daphne’s Movement Brought Down Joseph Muscat, And It Will Bring Down Robert Abela,’ PN MP Claims

Claudette Buttigieg didn’t mince her words about the influence of the national movement in bringing down Robert Abela’s “criminal” government.
Speaking at a PN conference on Sunday, the MP spoke about two morbid events in Maltese history: Black Monday and the brutal murder of an investigative journalist.
On 15th October 1979, Progress Press, publisher of The Times, and the home of Opposition leader Eddie Fenech Adami were ransacked after a Labour Party rally. It is known as Black Monday. On 16th October 2017, Daphne Caruana Galizia was assassination with a car bomb outside her Bidnija home.
“Just like 44 years ago, those in power thought that violence would scare the people, silence them into indifference and let impunity reign,” Buttigieg said.
“But Daphne’s murder sparked a national movement, which toppled Joseph Muscat’s government. I have no doubt that it will be instrumental in bringing down the government of Robert Abela too.”
The PN MP referred to the Labour Party as a “criminal organisation”, operating with the blessing of Robert Abela.
Today marks six years since the shocking murder of Caruana Galizia, a dark moment imprinted on the collective consciousness.
