Watch: Driver Attempts Insane Overtaking Manoeuvre Ahead Of Oncoming Traffic In Luqa
Dashcam footage has revealed the moment a car dangerously overtook a number of other vehicles along a road in Luqa, as traffic approached from the right lane.
The footage was exclusively shared with Lovin Malta by a driver who encountered the ordeal, which easily could have resulted in a nasty head-on collision.
In the footage, a silver car can be seen overtaking a line of cars, before hastily going back into the correct stream of traffic, almost crashing into two cars in the process.
“For every car journey that I make, I have enough footage to make a short movie on how not to drive. The lack of enforcement is appalling,” the driver told Lovin Malta.
“This specific case would’ve been a perfect head-on collision example had there not been space for the overtaking car to go back into its lane.”
“There’s a lot of focus and reporting about when traffic accidents happen but never about the aftermath, investigations, blame, and the factors that led to the accident itself,” he lamented.
Over the last few months, more drivers who own dashcams have been raising awareness of the realities of driving in Malta, with drivers going onto opposite lanes seemingly becoming normal.
