Boats crashing into the promenade are definitely not something you see every day, but that’s exactly what Xemxija locals woke up to this morning. As for Malta’s harbour area, early morning commuters at the Sliema-G?ira promenade got their own version of an unusual sight… and it was relatively shittier.

At around 6:45am, while making their way to work, people driving down Triq ix-Xatt from the Sliema Ferries side ended up passing by a portable toilet, casually standing in the middle of the road.

While we’re sure this must’ve been as unusual of a sight as it was a hilarious one, it’s great to see that no one one was injured in the process.

It’s important to note that multiple warnings are still active as very strong winds continue to barrage the islands, so keep an eye out for any developing alerts in your area… and be wary of rogue portable toilets.
