Watch: Evacuations Underway In Paceville Following Building Collapse

Health and CPD officials are currently in Paceville assisting the evacuation of hotels and apartments close to Tania Flats – the building that almost tragically collapsed on Wednesday night.
Footage sent to Lovin Malta shows ambulances, fire trucks, police cars and officials from the Civil Protection Department (CPD), the Malta Police Force and Mater Dei’s Hospital
Accident and Emergency Unit on Triq Paceville, St Julian’s in a coordinated effort to evacuate buildings close to the site of the incident.
Earlier this morning, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) released a statement informing the public of these evacuations.
The evacuations are precautionary and those affected are being provided temporary alternative accommodation. A dedicated emergency helpline has also been set up for affected persons: 99097867.
Following the evacuation, the BCA together with OHSA, CPD, Mater Dei’s Hospital Accident and Emergency Unit and the Police will carry out a coordinated dismantling process of a third-party property to control and minimise damage to third parties and their surroundings.
Further updates will be communicated as the situation develops and as the investigation progresses.
