Watch: Gozo Resident Attempts To Recycle Bottles Five Different Times In One Day, Only To Leave Empty Handed

Gozo resident, Petr Viscor, attempted to make use of the new reverse vending machines that supposedly give users 10 cents back per bottle.

However, despite trying five different times in one day, Petr left each machine empty handed.

“I went to the Lidl machine in the morning, then when that didn’t work, I went to Marsalforn, then Lidl again in the evening, then Xewkija and finally, Nadur,” Petr told Lovin Malta.

Petr explained that when he finally found a functioning machine in Marsalforn, it printed only half the receipt – meaning he deposited 80c worth of bottles but couldn’t claim it because the code did not make it to printing.

“We had a laugh with the shop assistant and I left without my money.”

In the start of the video, you can see him on his second trip to Lidl showing the different machines and the reasons they weren’t working.

The first, third and fifth machines were full. Meanwhile, the second had no signal and the fourth one was jammed.

The second part of the clip shows Petr in Xewkija where there were only two machines and the one accepting plastic bottles was completely full.

The final part of the video shows Petr using his last bit of luck in Nadur where the only machine was “not operational” which left him to keep all his “shit” in the trunk and go back home.

Petr further admitted that while he doesn’t necessarily need this money, there may be other people to whom it would make somewhat of a difference – because at the end of the day, the money adds up.
