Parliament Square has been reinforced with multiple police barricades ahead of tonight’s protest in Valletta.
Photos and videos posted online show police forces positioning a labyrinth of barricades around Parliament Square in anticipation ahead of what will be the fifth protest in Valletta in just over a week.
Police appear to have brought more barricades to tonight’s showing, linking most of them together with zip ties, in order to help stop protestors from breaking through.
Last night’s protest resulted in the toppling of police barriers as well as eggs, vegetables and coins being thrown at minister’s cars as they left Parliament.
There was also an altercation between a protester and police officer which might help explain why the police force has decided to bring extra reinforcement to tonight’s event.
