Four Regatta boats and their team sunk into the choppy sea as strong winds meant a major challenge during the 2023 Victory Day Regatta.

During the Dgħajjes Tal-Medalji race, held at the Valletta Grand Harbour as is tradition, disaster struck, with the boats for Cospicua, who placed first, and Vittoriosa sinking into the seas after completing the distance.

Marsamxett was able to place third, however Marsa and Senglea’s boats sunk before making it to the end, with all crews being picked up by officials once the boats went under.
