No less than four vehicles were involved in a collision in Mellieħa, leading to congestion forming in the area.

LESA officials were called to the scene after a bus, work van and two private vehicles collided with each other.

No one was injured in the accident, and officials quickly addressed the growing congestion in Mellieħa and cleared the scene, a police spokesperson told Lovin Malta.

A Malta Public Transport spokesperson said: “A vehicle operated by Malta Public Transport was involved in a collision earlier this morning in Mellieha. No major injuries were reported in this incident.”

“Our emergency response team was immediately in contact with the authorities for assistance and an internal investigation is currently underway. The health and safety of everyone is our top priority and the company will be taking all the necessary action in an effort to prevent similar accidents in the future. In the meantime, any inconvenience caused as a result of this accident is regretted.”
