WATCH: From ‘Somewhere In Malta’, Woman Gives Satirical Takedown Of The Budget, RUBS And Fr David Muscat

Don’t look now, but the new Tallinja concession card for the elderly is actually there to get rid off old people on the island… at least, according to one new satirical programme.

ABS News is hosted by Sandra Gauci, and features the host taking down some of the hottest news topics of the week.

Her latest episode takes on some of the budget measures; for example, she explains that the costly new Maltese Spellchecker is actually invested into streamline posts in RUBS, as well as to ward off against new Maltese words used on TV cooking shows, such as “tipplatja”.

She’s also blessed Finance Minister Edward Scicluna with the new laqam of ‘Dwardu ix-Xiki’, which we should all agree on calling him from now on.

She then turns to her Personality of the Week – Fr David Muscat, aka “il-Mosti 100%” as she calls him.

Saying she’s never actually seen him wearing his collar even though he lives near her, she points out that it turns out that Fr David Muscat has been reading Hitler’s Mein Kampf with a ‘Bible’ sticker on the front this entire time. As she points out, it was a very rare case of children touching something of a priest’s and getting away from it.

These were just some of the main takeaways from the latest episode of ABS News. While some found her satire a bit too sharp for them, she’s already garnered nearly 20,000 views on this episode. With the weekly show coming out on Sundays,
