Watch: Heartbreaking Scenes At Pelin Kaya Vigil As Relatives Light Birthday Cake At Spot Where She Was Killed
There were emotional scenes in the streets of Gżira this evening as Pelin Kaya’s relatives and other mourners paid tribute to her at the where site she was killed.
In front of a large crowd, Kaya’s sister Derya Kaya and her uncle Aykan Ceylan lit a birthday cake for their late relative who was killed just one hour after she turned 30.

The relatives sobbed as they sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and remembered Kaya’s life that was tragically cut short after Jeremie Camilleri run over her in front of a KFC restaurant.
Candles, flowers and photos of Pelin, as well as a sign reading “It’s not an accident, it’s a murder” were also placed on the site.
Camilleri has been charged with Kaya’s murder and is pleading not guilty.
