Watch: ‘I Cry My Heart Out At Times’ – Angele De Leuw’s Husband Remembers Her In Touching Speech
Angele de Leuw Muscat’s husband, Casper de Leuw, remembered his wife in a touching yet heartbreaking speech issued during a celebration of her memory.
On 26th August, Angele’s beloved family and friends gathered in Mosta to remember and commemorate her life in a final celebration. Angele passed away earlier this month on 11th August, after a long and hard battle with cancer.
Angele’s story touched many, especially those who followed her journey over the past four years as she combated the illness.
“Celebrating life, or mourning a death. They are two very different approaches. Angele passed away, she moved on, she’s away from this life of ours, she’s not here anymore. I lost my wife, her children, they lost their mother, her parents, they lost her daughter, and the list goes on and on,” Casper said addressing a crowd of people.
“We all lost her two weeks ago, and this loss comes with a lot of pain and grief and sadness.”
“But yet we’re here today to celebrate her life in a way that nobody thought was possible, to share memories and laughter and tears,” he said.
“There’s so much to celebrate, so much to learn and be grateful for. She always had so much excitement and joy and life.”
“Am I at rock bottom? I’d like to think I’m not,” he expressed. “I’m hurt, I’m in disbelief, at how fast everything happened, four months ago, she was still dancing the night away.”
“It’s still surreal to come home to a house without Angele. And I scream, I shout, I cry my heart out at times.”
“But thanks to the way we went through this together, I can say that Angele actually gave me stepping stones, and a massive kick forwards and upwards, and I can make the best out of the rest of my life now.”
