Local TV personality Claire Agius Ordway has opened up about her long-term relationship, detailing that she doesn’t think she was in love before she got married.

The personal experiences were shared during Trudy Kerr’s first episode of season two of her podcast, The She Word, which aims to shed light on conversations that women rarely have, but really should be having.

During the introduction of the show, Agius Ordway detailed how she did not experience the conventional love story, but rather, found love in the later stages of her marriage, having been with her husband since seventeen years of age.

“We talk about this a lot, me and my husband. Because I tell him, in the beginning, I don’t think I was in love with him. I don’t think I really loved him so much when we got married,” Agius Ordway said in the introduction of the show.

“I don’t remember those butterflies and everything before marrying my husband,” she said.

“Then we had our kids, and I remember when they were still young, telling myself that I’m not staying with him because we fight a lot.”

“I had put my kids first, and that was a huge mistake for your marriage,” she said.

“But I was lucky enough that we stayed together. And now, thankfully, my kids have grown older and now I’m living my love story with him.”

She also stressed that even though the public pictures them as a perfect couple, they’ve still had their rough patches.

“Now if I had to be honest, we’re going through lovely things because we go abroad a lot and go out together,” she said, adding that before that they didn’t use to.

“I made a huge mistake when my kids were younger and I put them first because we never went out or spent time together,” she said, stressing the importance of allocating quality time for your partner.
