Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works Omar Farrugia has published an emotional video to shed light on the plight of the children of Gaza.

In it, he draws a stark comparison between Malta’s schoolchildren and the thousands of children killed in Gaza.

He said that while Maltese schoolchildren dream of becoming doctors, ballerinas or vets, the equivalent of an entire classroom of 30 children has been killed every day in Gaza for the past two years

“They could have been Maltese; they could have been our children,” Farrugia said. “If this isn’t genocide, what is it?”

He praised Malta’s decision to recognise the state of Palestine next month and urged the EU to officially recognise the atrocities as a genocide.

“This dark chapter in human history must be called by its name. These children are no less than ours,” he said.
