Watch: ‘Imagine You Catch A Thief And He Tells You To Shut Up And Stop Interfering’ – Simon Busuttil
Former Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil compared the current political situation to a thief retaliating against their captor after being caught redhanded.
“How could the government take three of our hospitals and give them to a completely inexperienced company that no one had ever heard of?” Busuttil questioned on Karl Bonaci’s new podcast.
“I always wanted the law to apply to everyone – to me, you and Joseph Muscat as well, but they wanted impunity.”
“Imagine you catch a thief and he tells you not to interfere and to shut up. That’s the situation they brought us into.”
“When someone speaks out against a thief, the thief will now turn on them.”
Busuttil warned that the situation hasn’t changed under Robert Abela and claimed the current Prime Minister “adores” Muscat.
“Muscat has been charged with corruption, fraud and money laundering and yet Abela keeps praising him like he’s a god. If he was serious, he should have kicked him out of the party.”
