Watch: Indian Teenager’s Powerful Parliament Speech: ’I Moved To Malta For Cleaner Air’
A 15-year-old Indian girl delivered a powerful speech to Malta’s Parliament, stating that she moved to the island ten years ago because of the promise of cleaner air.
“I had health complications and I was told to come to Malta because the air is cleaner here and more suitable for me,” Rhythm Garg said.
“But this is no longer the case; unfortunately these are things of the past. It could change again in the future but that will require all of us to come together and work for that aim.”

“I don’t need to provide statistics to show you how serious the problem is because we all know, but some of us still decide to sideline it.”
Rhythm, who is part of the MFWS Children’s Hub, got to speak in Parliament as part of a special climate change conference organised by PN MP and Shadow Climate Change Minister Eve Borg Bonello, whee youths, children, activists and scientists got to address MPs.
“Hearing these remarkable children speak in Parliament has renewed my faith in the next generation,” Borg Bonello said. “It’s high time for the adults in the room to step up and take the difficult decisions.”
