Watch: Int Bis-Serjetà? Peppi Azzopardi Rips Into Alex Borg For Endorsing Trump

Peppi Azzopardi questioned how Alex Borg could be considered for PN leader when he had endorsed Donald Trump as US President.
Interviewed on Ricky Caruana’s Podcast, Azzopardi said that while Borg was raised in a morally upright family, he is concerned at his pro-Trump statements.
“Is he serious? How can you be the leader of a Christian Democratic party and support Donald Trump?” he questioned.
“You can be an atheist or anti-Church, but Christian Democratic parties are rooted in the political teachings of Christ – including his words ‘I was a stranger and you welcomed me’ – which should shape the PN’s stance on migration.”
“However, Trump is the antithesis of Christian Democratic politics. He is the biggest criminal and the cruellest person in the world right now.”
Azzopardi also dismissed Borg’s praise of Trump for delivering what he had promised.
“You first have to see what it is he promised,” he said.
Among other criticisms, Azzopardi slammed Trump for his budget cuts, mass deportations, pardons for Capitol Hill rioters, attack on Iran, and praise for Benjamin Netanyahu.
