Watch: ‘It’s A Shame You’re One Of Us’ – Youth Rips Into Roberta Metsola At Palestine Protest
A Maltese-Tunisian youth tore into European Parliament President Roberta Metsola over her stance on the Israel-Gaza war and accused her of “betraying the Maltese”.
At a pro-Palestine protest in Valletta last weekend, Rayenne Magtouf started off by claiming she was there on behalf of “all the Maltese youths” and proceeded to address Metsola personally.
“It’s such a shame that you are one of us because you actually betrayed the Maltese,” Magtouf said to loud boos from the crowd.

“Maltese people don’t stand with occupiers and we do not stand with genocide. Throwing missiles and poisonous gases on innocent people and children in schools, churches, and hospitals is not fighting terrorism – it is killing innocents.”
“Fighting terrorism with terrorism is not how you solve the issue. We can see the other side of the story now, not just the story from western media outlets like CNN.”
Magtouf warned Metsola that she and other young Maltese women who used to support and admire her are “disgusted” by her stance.
“Take back your words, ask for peace and stop bombing people,” she said.
“We can all see it on Instagram, TikTok, whatever. Normalising seeing people die like that is not OK, it’s not acceptable. How do you feel having innocent blood on your hands?”
