Watch: ‘It’s Negligible’ – Delia Dismisses Concerns Of Duplicate PN-PL Tesserati

Adrian Delia said he isn’t concerned that a substantial number of the PN’s members could also be members of the Labour Party.

People within the PN have privately voiced concerns at the lack of checks within the tesserati system and warned it is ripe for abuse.

As it stands, there’s technically nothing preventing PL members from paying a €10 annual fee to join the PN and influence its leadership elections.

However, in an interview with Lovin Malta, Delia said he is convinced that the number of ‘duplicate tesserati’ is “negligible”.

While he doesn’t have access to PL’s information to confirm his theory as a fact, Delia said he and other people in the party can generally identify tesserati who vote on the ground.

“After eight years of going to każini, General Councils, meetings and committees, I have some experience,” he said. “When I see people turning up to vote, I know many of them personally. We are a big family.”

However, Delia said he is aware that thousands of PN tesserati haven’t renewed their membership.

“These people were unhappy or disgruntled about something, so now is the opportunity to meet them, speak to them, and persuade them,” he said.

Alex Borg also dismissed concerns of duplicate tesserati, describing it as “the least of our problems” right now.
