Former Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat was given the red carpet treatment at a business university in Hyderabad, India.

Muscat recently travelled to Hyderabad, where Woxsen University gave him an “outstanding ministerial service award”.

The university shared a video of the former Maltese leader and his wife Michelle Muscat being given a tour of the campus, trying out a VR headset, and getting honoured with yellow wreaths.

“I was extremely pleased to be here at Woxsen and discover for myself this wonderful place which is only 10 years old but still managed to establish itself among the top 150 universities in the world when it comes to business education, and one of only ten Indian universities with European accreditation,” Muscat said.

“I believe that their efforts when it comes to internationalisation are reaping fruit and I’m extremely sure that ten more years don’t need to pass, but in a few months and years they will be in a situation where they will achieve more success.”

Muscat, who resigned as Prime Minister following the 2019 political crisis, has been toying with a potential comeback as a PL MEP candidate. However, he has played down these rumours.
