Watch: Joint Rescue Effort By CPD, AFM And Mater Dei Team Underway For Sea Accident At Haywharf, Sa Maison

A rescue mission is currently underway by members of the Civil Protection Department (CPD), together with the Armed Forces (AFM), to rescue a number of people who were involved in an accident at Haywarf, Sa Maison on Friday morning.

TVM News reported an incident occurred around 12.15pm, with several AFM and CPD vessels being dispatched to aid in the accident at sea and to bring them in at Haywarf where several medical teams from Mater Dei are providing treatment.

At least seven people were lifted from the sea and are expected to be taken to hospital for further treatment, with more people possibly still needing assistance.

Police told Lovin Malta they are currently collecting information on the incident as it is still unclear what took place.
