Watch: Joseph Muscat Campaigner Threatens To Name ‘Business People’ Working Against His Plan For European Elections
ONE radio host Emanuel Cuschieri has threatened to name “business people” who he claimed are working behind the scenes against Joseph Muscat’s return to politics as an MEP candidate.
Cuschieri, one of Muscat’s most prominent advocates, published a video last night in which he made his intentions clear.
“We want the PL to register its biggest-ever electoral victory in June, and to assure this happens we must be completely sure that its MEP candidates are the best ones possible,” he said.
“I have been informed that a number of business people are trying to interfere in internal PL issues and convince someone, and you understand what I mean, to take a step back and not contest the MEP election.”
Cuschieri said that he will be forced to name these business people unless they stop “interfering” in internal PL issues.
“They don’t have the PL’s interests at heart but other interests, and if they don’t stop interfering I will be forced to name them,” he said.
Cuschieri also questioned why the Labour Party has yet to reintegrate Rosianne Cutajar as a PL MP despite Prime Minister Robert Abela calling for this to happen in January.
He said that the PL executive and parliamentary group were supposed to meet on Monday to discuss Cutajar’s potential reintegration among issues, but that this meeting was cancelled at the last minute.
“It is a big mystery why it was cancelled. Rather than making a statement, I will question whether the cancellation of this meeting was in any way linked to the success of PL MEP Alex Agius Saliba’s event at Triton Fountain last Saturday, in which Alfred Sant and Joseph Muscat spoke out.”
“I have long been pressuring the PL to what is right by Cutajar and I will intensify this pressure in the coming days. I hope this calvary she has been passing through, even psychologically, ends as soon as possible and I hope I’m not forced to provide further details.”
Should Joseph Muscat contest the MEP election?
