Watch: Joseph Muscat – ‘This Will Be The Final Nail In PN’s Coffin’
Joseph Muscat said he is “convinced” that his upcoming court case will trigger a major political fallout that will result in the “total collapse” of the Nationalist Party.
“I am beyond convinced that I will pass through this Calvary and I am looking forward to that day, because the instigators and those who associated themselves with it will lead to the collapse of the PN once and for all,” Muscat said on Emanuel Cuschieri’s ONE Radio show Linja Ċara.
“People say that I managed to destroy the PN. I say that it managed to destroy itself, and now it’s going to allow other people to hammer the final nail in its coffin.”
Muscat has been given access to the parts of Gabriella Vella’s magisterial inquiry in which he is mentioned, ahead of his court case, where he is facing charges of money laundering, corruption and criminal association.
He told Cushieri that there isn’t a shred of evidence against him in the documents he received, and that the case against him is based solely on the word of an unnamed Indian national.
“This is a castle of sand. No matter how beautiful it is, a single wave will destroy it all, and I will be that wave,” he said.
“I will come down like a tsunami and rip these findings to shred. They used to laugh when I told them that an earthquake is coming… well, now a tsunami is coming that will sweep these people away.”
“I told them to leave me alone after I left politics but they wanted to try and humiliate me. I am sure it will lead to the collapse of the PN, who will end up having to blame those extremists who once again rode on a lie and hearsay without bringing forward a drop of proof.”
