WATCH: Journalists Locked Inside Castille By ‘Security Guards’ Following Joseph Muscat’s Press Conference
Journalists were barred from exiting Castille earlier today following Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s impromptu press conference to address recent turbulent events.
The media were left shocked and confused as they were denied exit from Castille by what appears to be a group of security guards not dressed in uniform.
Paul Caruana Galizia, the youngest son of the late Daphne Caruana Galizia, was present at the press conference and was particularly outraged by the actions of the security guards.
“You have absolutely no fucking right to lock us in a room. Who are you exactly? Security services? Police?”
The men refused to provide any explanation as to why they were blocking the door and also failed to address whether they were part of the security team or police force.
Fortunately, after just a couple of minutes, journalists were allowed to exit, but not before most of the cabinet had cleared off.
Prime Minister Joseph Muscat held a press conference at 3 am announcing that the cabinet had rejected a second request for a pardon from Yorgen Fenech, the main suspect in the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Media houses were left bitterly disappointed after PM Joseph Muscat answered only a handful of questions after journalists were made to wait hours outside during a cabinet meeting.
