One of Malta’s most popular national footballers has revealed plans to open one of the biggest aquariums in Malta after opening a new restaurant following his appearance on Netflix.

Justin Haber, who was one of the most prominent footballers in Malta throughout the 00s as he played on the national team as a goalkeeper, spoke of his passion for building aquariums and what his next big plan is.

He had appeared on Netflix’s Restaurants On The Edge alongside his Marsaxlokk restaurant Haber 16. However, the show’s experts had some important feedback for the budding restaurateur.

Speaking to Lovin Malta in episode one of new series Lovin Streats, Haber explained how he took feedback on board as he moved forward into new dining ventures.

“It was a great experience, I took their advice, concentrating more on the portions and on the extra cost of deliveries,” Haber said. “Today, with more experience, I know what’s going on a bit more.”

Haber was excited to reveal his big plans: building the island’s largest aquarium. 

“Aquariums are my hobby, my business as well, I love aquariums – and just to give you a heads up, I will build the biggest aquarium in Malta, I promise that – and it will be in a restaurant,” he beamed.
