Blood-soaked tissues were anonymously mailed to Karl Stagno Navarra today, which the Labour TV presenter has described as an attempt to stop him exposing the truth.
In a video, Stagno Navarra revealed that he had received an anonymous letter at his ONE TV offices, with a dynamite stick drawn onto it. Upon opening the letter, he found tissues soaked in blood, a clearly threatening message.
“This is the price one must pay for telling the truth in this country,” he said. “This isn’t the first time something like this has happened but this is the first time such a letter has come with blood. I don’t know if its animal or human blood and I’ll let the police figure that out.”
Stagno Navarra message comes a day after Opposition MP Karol Aquilina recounted how he had received a package of cocaine in the mail back in March 2019.
He told The Times this was a clear attempt to intimidate or silence him by people implicated in the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Opposition MP Jason Azzopardi had also received an anonymous cocaine package last year, and now former Opposition leader Simon Busuttil and PN MEP David Casa have also revealed they had received similar packages..
