Watch: ‘Labour Establishment’ Tried To Destroy Isabelle Bonnici, PN MP Warns
PN MP Jerome Caruana Cilia warned that a small but powerful “PL establishment” did everything possible to try and destroy Isabelle Bonnici to stop her campaigning for a public inquiry for her late son Jean Paul Sofia.
Caruana Cilia, who was the first MP to take up Bonnici’s cause, said it is “surreal” that Bonnici was made to fight so hard for a public inquiry.
“You can’t even imagine the obstacles Isabelle had to go through, and yet she remained focused and determined for the truth to come out,” he said in Parliament.
“They did everything they could to silence her and shut her up from talking about the public inquiry. They tried to buy her out, they attacked her personally, they tried to mock her and ridicule her, but she wasn’t afraid.”
“She wasn’t afraid of cowboys, bullies, or people blinded by political partisanship and she kept fighting for the truth until it finally triumphed.”
Caruana Cilia ended his speech by sending out a message to the “small establishment clique”.
“To that small but powerful Labour establishment clique, I give you this message – no, you didn’t manage to destroy Isabelle because truth triumphs over lies,” he said.
