Repubblika has urged people to bring pots, wooden spoons and whistles to tonight’s protest so as to make as loud a noise as possible.

Ahead of tonight’s protest against the magisterial inquiry reform, the NGO published a video with basic ‘protest kit essentials’ – a pot, a wooden spoon and a whistle.

“Let’s make some noise,” they said.

Repubblika activist Robert Aquilina urged people to attend the protest, warning that the reform is intended to “help criminals to continue robbing citizens”.

“The government wants to strip citizens of their right to request a magisterial inquiry to obtain justice. This is dangerous behaviour by people who have something to hide. We must stop the government and make our voices heard,” he said.

Lawyer and former PN MP Jason Azzopardi warned that the government wants to pass this law in record time because “ministers are scared of investigations that expose their corruption.”

PN MPs Albert Buttigieg and Karol Aquilina have also endorsed the protest.

Will you attend tonight’s protest?
