Watch: Malta Has Overtaken London In Cocaine Use, Jason Azzopardi Warns

Jason Azzopardi warned that cocaine use in Malta has become so prevalent that the country has overtaken London in terms of consumption, which used to be viewed as the cocaine capital of Europe.

“The annual consumption of cocaine in Malta is higher than London,” the lawyer and former PN MP said on the latest episode of Jon Mallia’s Il-Każin talk show. “This means a lot of money generated for major drug traffickers, money laundering, and unexplained wealth.”

“A drug squad inspector told me this and it honestly shocked me.”

Azzopardi took part in a debate about corruption along with PN secretary general Michael Piccinino, Anna Mallia and Arnold Cassola. Although the Labour Party was invited to send a representative, no PL politician turned up for the debate.

The debate will air at 8:40pm tonight on GO Tokis
