WATCH: Malta’s 2020 Airshow Is Back In Action After Three Consecutive Cancellations
After the uproar it caused last month when it got cancelled, officials have now confirmed that the Malta International Airshow is now back on for 2020.
An agreement was reached between Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi and the Malta Aviation Society which will bring back the airshow next year, after works at the airport take place in order to accommodate the event.
The airshow, which has been cancelled the previous two years, had also been initially cancelled next year due to issues regarding adequate parking spaces.
However, it seems like the relevant authorities have reached an agreement that will re-introduce the airshow next year for its 26th edition on September 26th and 27th.
“The Malta International Airshow will be another key addition to the Visit Malta calendar of events and will attract a number of visitors and enhance niche tourism. We will keep working closely with all stakeholders involved to make sure that this event is successful,” Konrad Mizzi.
Preparations are already underway for the airshow which in the past has attracted thousands of local and foreign aviation enthusiasts, and has been a highly-anticipated event for youths looking to get into the world of flying.
