If you’re looking for your daily dose of nostalgia porn, we’ve got you covered for the next year, after a heartwarming video showcasing an incredible redesign of Malta’s iconic yellow buses was finally released.

Touching and tender in the right places, the video shows how easy it can be to fuse modern technology with a traditional soul.

A project headed by Mizzi Studios and Move On, Stargate Film Studios production is soft and sleek, taking you through a nostalgia-fueled journey that will make you long a “MOVE BACK PLEASE” for the rest of the week.

Opening on a yellow bus graveyard,  commemorating the 200 yellow vehicles that were decommissioned from our hearts and our roads in 2011.

With the screen slowly turning to black, the traditional hand-painting line pattens and lettering that had characterised the old buses slowly reappears through reimagined LED technology.

The trailer for the full video was revealed six months ago by Lovin Malta, with public immediately smitten with the new design, and it’s easy to see why!

A replica of the bus was unveiled earlier tonight in an event at Triton Square, with it remaining underneath the Parliament Building until December.

Backed by the Ministry for Transport, the reborn bus could very well be on Malta’s streets sometime soon.

Arts Council Malta, Heritage Malta, Tallinia, Malta Public Transport, Transport Malta, Stargate Studies Malta, Lovin Malta, Eden Leisure Group, the Mizzi Organisation, and Gadgets also helped in bringing Mizzi Studio’s vision to life.
