Watch: Maltese-Australian Family Stands Ground By Refusing To Sell Home For Millions
Property developers are known to offer insane amounts of money in order to build commercial or residential places, but the defiant Zammits refuse to sell their Australian home, even when surrounded by a suburb of houses.
The ‘rebellious’ Maltese-Australians declined reported €40 million offer – which just goes to show how priceless their five-acre plot of land really is.
“It used to be farmland dotted with little red brick homes and cottages,” mother Diane Zammit, 50, told Daily Mail Australia. “Every home was unique, and there was so much space – but not any more. It’s just not the same.”
Their story has gone viral across Aussie media, with the Zammits, known to be a private family, standing up against eye-watering financial offers.

Even their neighbours agree with their decision, and said that they appreciate the small oasis in a desert of houses.
”They should be even more petty and upgrade the house,” a TikTok user commented.
The land which the Zammits currently own, could reportedly fit fifty houses, and each block would cost around a million Australian dollars.
Despite the pressure developers keep putting on the owners, it looks like they will not be backing down.
