Watch: Maltese Officer Showing Impressive Football Skills In Valletta Goes Viral

A female police officer who showed some some serious football skill while patrolling Valletta has quietly gone viral.

“PC 2001 Janice Xuereb caught in action while sharing a light moment with the community during her patrols in Valletta,” the Malta Police Force proudly said, sharing the video.

Xuereb is a goalkeeper of the Malta’s Women National Football Team and also plays with Birkirkara FC.

In a clip originally posted by This is Malta, Xuereb can be seen controlling the ball while wearing her uniform as a couple of young girls nearby watch.

The clip racked up thousands of views within hours, with hundreds of comments pouring in.

“Awesome seeing police interact this way with citizens,” said one person.

Others were happy to see a change in the approach to officers engaging with the public.

“Fantastic how now you are proud of her while 10/20/30 years ago she would have received a warning… evolution of society comes also from these small things,” noted one reader.

The last time footage of a female police officer had gone viral, the reaction had been very different.
