A group of Maltese students attending London campuses and other Maltese people living in the UK have gathered outside the Maltese High Commission in Piccadilly to call for the resignation of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

They hung a Maltese flag, photos of assassinated journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and messages such as ‘Daphne Was Right’, ‘The Crooks Must Go’ and ‘You Feared Her So You Killed Her, Cowards’ on the doors of the High Commission.

They also laid candles and flowers on the floor in tribute to Caruana Galizia.

The event page said the students are calling on those in power to step aside in order for full justice to be served, in light of the arrests of Yorgen Fenech and Keith Schembri in connection with the journalist’s assassination.

“Your presence matters, more than ever,” the post reads, “Given events this past week, it is time we reiterated our message to those in power: it is time to rebuild trust.”
