Watch: Man-Made Dust Clouds Engulf Msida Drivers As Roadworks Obscure Promenade

Article Featured Image

Driving on Malta’s roads in 2023 is basically like playing a game of charades without any hints, with drivers having to guess and hope the roads they chose today aren’t closed… and even if they are open, are at least visible.

Any drivers who ventured near Msida today however quickly found themselves in the middle of an artificial miniature dust storm as roadworks on the promenade continue… even though the promenade was officially “completed” back in January.

Footage sent to this newsroom taken just before noon today shows drivers forced to push through a hazy sight, with clouds of dust mixing into a grey sky to cause quite a depressing scene.

This is far from the only time drivers found themselves having to slowly drive through thick clouds of dust from nearby roadworks; just last week, drivers near Burmarrad’s Telgħa T’Alla u Ommu found themselves in the exact same situation.

Have you found yourself driving through man-made dust clouds this summer?
