A man stopped a public bus yesterday night in the middle of the Luqa flyover demanding to get on.

Footage sent to Lovin Malta by a passenger on the Tallinja vehicle shows a bus driver and unknown person getting into a verbal altercation in the middle of the dangerous flyover.

According to the passenger, the incident occurred yesterday at around 10.40pm when the man was spotted in the middle of the busy flyover trying to get the bus to stop so he could get on. The driver refused but the person outside “kept insisting until – after continuously slamming on the windscreen – just left”.

The clip shows the bus driver on route 72 telling the man that he cannot be let on the bus because they weren’t at an appropriate stop.

As the driver repeats that he cannot stop in the middle of a flyover, the person on the road starts getting visibly and audibly aggressive, even shouting at the driver through the windshield.

The driver then asks someone to call the district police before loud thuds start being heard.

“He’s banging on the windscreen,” the driver confirms before driving off.

Lovin Malta reached out to the police and to a spokesperson from Malta Public Transport.
