Police are searching for a man involved in a vicious attack filmed in public in San Ġwann on Friday night.

In the graphic footage, two men can be seen grappling with each other on the pavement in Naxxar Road, San Ġwann.

However, one man soon gets the upper hand, beginning a flurry of kicks and punches – some to the head – while the victim attempts to shield himself and avoid being hit.

At one point, the attacker picks up an item and places it near the victim’s neck.

Onlookers scream at the man to stop, with some workers at a nearby restaurant stepping out in an attempt to stop the brutal public beating.

Soon after, a man physically steps in between the attacker and the victim, who, by this point, is laid out flat on the road.
