Goku, Vegeta, Bulma and turning Super Saiyan… welcome to the fantastical world of Dragon Ball.

One of the most iconic Japanese manga and anime series of all time spanning nearly 40 years, one Maltese man took his love for the show to the next level, investing around €100,000 in a vast collection of figurines, busts, plushies – as well as the appropriate rooms and walling – to house them in.

Lovin Malta visited Michael Cassar in Santa Venera to get a closer look at what is Malta’s largest Dragon Ball collection.

Michael’s always been obsessed with Dragon Ball – but it was around four and a half years ago when he decided to step up his game and get serious about his collection.

That’s when he began investing in and creating a special room just for the Japanese anime in his home with his partner and two cats.

Spending thousands just to get the collection room in order, any fan would be mesmerised stepping inside.

The roof is emblazoned with a relief of Goku and Vegeta taking on Broly, with another massive Broly bust right by the door.

Indeed, Broly is Michael’s favourite character – he’s even got a tattoo of the popular antagonist on his head.

And his arms and legs are also covered with Dragon Ball tattoos, from Krillin to Trunks.

From his rarest and most prized possessions to giving back to the community, enter Michael’s golden world of Dragon Ball in Santa Venera.
